What kind of CEUs are offered at the seminar?

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS: Every class qualifies for registered landscape architect CEUs (Florida Board of Landscape Architecture optional CEs), usually 1 CE. Generally, 5 optional CEs are available for each general session on Wednesday and on Thursday. In addition, the credential option qualifies for 4 LA CEs. Registered landscape architects should check in with the FANN table to make sure you sign the required forms. QR Codes will be presented at the end of each class to provide evaluation information to the Board of Landscape Architecture. 

FNGLA CERTIFIED PROFESSIONALS: earn 8 credits per day. Self report your CEUs to FNGLA using a form you can pick up at the FANN check-in table.

ISA CERTIFIED ARBORISTS can earn credits for the general session each day and for the credential option as follows:

WEDNESDAY General Session: 5 Certified Arborist, 3 BCMA Science, 5 TW Climber Specialist, 5 TW Aerial Lift Specialist, 5 Municipal Specialist, 2 BCMA Management
THURSDAY General Session: 6 Certified Arborist, 2 BCMA Science, 6 TW Climber Specialist, 4 BCMA practice, 6 TW Aerial Lift Specialist, 6 Municipal Specialist
CREDENTIAL OPTION – earn 2 more CE units for Certified Arborists, BCMA Science, TW Climber Specialist, TW Aerial Lift Specialist and Municipal Specialist

Theater seating.

How long are each of the classes?

Most are an hour.

Will there be breaks in the classes?

Lunch breaks and afternoon breaks both days. Grab a coffee or soda in the Blue Palmetto Cafe.

Will the classes be recorded?

No.

May I record the classes with my own device?

No.

Do I have to attend both days to be credentialed?

Yes and you need to add the credential option to your registration.  Contact FANN for details 321-271-4885.

How far in advance do I have to contact you if I need to cancel?

The deadline for cancellations with refund is October 22, 2024.

Will I get a refund if I cancel?

Yes, if you cancel by October 22, 2024. .

Do I have to enroll in the credential program to attend?

No.

How will becoming credentialed benefit me?

Professional native plant credentials let your customers or employer know of your commitment to native plants and your proven ability to identify, select, and use these plants in sustainable landscaping. This is a great way to promote your native plant savvy. Collect all of FANN’s microcredentials to achieve eventual native plant professional certification.

Will there be any free time to tour the gardens on our own? 

Yes, your registration includes full admission to the garden, which is open from 8am – 6pm.

Can we go into Bok Tower?

NO. The tower cannot be entered, but you can get up close and experience its majestic presence.

Are there any other expenses I need to know about other than registration and the hotel cost?

Nothing mandatory. Attendees are encouraged to join us for dinner Wednesday night at Cherry Pocket Steak & Seafood– you pick up your own tab. There is a great restaurant, the Blue Palmetto Cafe, and a fantastic gift shop at the Garden. And FANN will be selling books & t-shirts you’ll want to take home.

Will lunch be included in the program each day?

Yes, a box lunch is provided both days. If you have dietary restrictions contact FANN by Friday, October 25. 

Will there be food and wine at the Networking Social on Wednesday?

Cash bar only.

Will the presenters and guides be attending the Social?

Yes.

Is the dinner at Cherry Pocket Steak & Seafood Restaurant complimentary?

No. You pay for your dinner.

Can I bring a guest to either function?

Registration is required for the social. Contact FANN 321-271-4885.  

You are welcome to bring guests to the dinner at Cherry Pocket Steak & Seafood.

Will dinner be held in a private dining room or are we at separate tables?

Separate tables.

Are we free to stay and enjoy the music after dinner or is our group scheduled for a certain time  limit?

The restaurant closes at 9pm.

EXHIBITORS

Set up Wednesday morning as early as 8am.

Contact FANN 321-271-4885 with any questions about exhibits. Exhibits are strictly a benefit of upper level sponsorship.

If I am bringing plants, etc. do I need my own cart / dolly or does the facility furnish them for us?

Bring everything you need to move your plants in. Do not bring plants larger than 15g. 

If I have a display table, do I need to bring my own chairs?  Tablecloths? Table?  

Tables, tablecloths and chairs will be furnished. The tables are 8 feet long.

What are we allowed to display at our booth?

Native plants only and any services your business offers. Please consider offering useful, environmentally friendly give-aways. 

If we don’t have a tent, can we hang our banner in front of our table?

Yes

Will the facility furnish us with tape, clips, etc. for our displays?

No, bring your own

Are we allowed to conduct sales or take orders at our booth?

Yes, and you are responsible for collecting and reporting any sales tax or sales tax exemptions. Generally, this is not a sales show but a marketing event.
